If Thomas Paine were alive today, would he be ignored, heeded, or tasered?
Previous DQ: Why would Miss South Carolina make a better president than George W. Bush?
Answer (thanks to Mike Rappaport): She would be a better president than the current one because it is clear that her verbal skills, her keen grasp of issues and her overall likeability are so far beyond Bush's as to be staggering.

There would be no need to taser Mr. Paine, largely because no one would be listening.
Since Paine was a gentleman of the 18th century, he would never scream, shout, expose himself or any of the other methods 21st century people use to draw attention to themselves.
As soon as he began talking, the quality of his rhetoric would confuse listeners and they would wander away.
The only way Paine would be able to get anyone's attention would be to taser himself.
He'd be classified as an enemy combatant. Since Paine was an atheist, he would also be considered deranged.
