As long as there are rich people who feel the need to be richer at the expense of the poor, there will be a Republican Party.
As long as there are people who yearn to acquire more power, no matter who or what gets in the way, there will be a Republican Party.

Yes, KB you are so right.
Unless someone invents a time machine and bring us all back to 1951 when men were men and women knew they didn't have to worry their pretty little heads about anything because father knew best; when the colored folks were always happy, laughing and smiling and singing, in their own schools; when nobody talked anything other than good-old-fashioned English; when there wasn't any of this "understanding" some juvenile deliquent from the wrong side of the tracks who was going to grow up to be a good-for-nothing bum like his old man, no matter what anyone did; when there was no sex ed in the schools because it will just give them ideas (although boys will be boys, chuckle, chuckle); when all the wetbacks picked vegetables and were damn happy they had a job; when everybody went to church on Sunday -not that Roman Catholic place with all their idols - a real Christian church; when Europe was grateful we'd saved their butts, and South America was happy to have our businesses being interested in them; when you could fly to Havana for a good cigar and a rum-and-cola; until that happens there will always be a Republican Party.
They may call themselves something else, but we'll know who they really are.

Wherever a baby cries alone in the night, a Republican will be there to steal its lollipop (and health care).
Wherever women are making fully informed reproductive decisions on their own, a Republican will be there to spread misinformation and curtail her options.
Wherever gay men renounce the influence of shame and abandon their closets, a Republican will be there to shove them back in (and maybe join them for a little Down Low lovin').
Wherever anyone is content with a government department that is providing a benefit to their lives, a Republican will be there to destroy that department from within with incompetent cronies.
Disappear? There's still necks without boots on 'em, thoughts to be policed, children to indoctrinate, scientific facts to dispel, people to erase, history to rewrite!

Raping everything in sight ensures Primogenitor as it once did in the primative world, ie, America ca 2000-2008, and will be evidenced by the inability to reason, the love of large cars and large McMansions, and Colassal Hypocricy.
Yes, I'm afraid they are going to be with us for a long time.
There will always be a Republican Party in one form or another (Whig, Know Nothing, etc.) because the stupid, mean, hateful and selfish people need a political philosophy too.
One would hope Lbertarian ("I've got mine, Jack") would have been enough, but Libertarians come up short when it comes to racism and xenophobia.
