Huffington Post Censures Investigative Reporter

Los Angeles, California - One of the most respected investigative reporters in the world, Virt of Assimilated Press, found out today that he has been banned from The Huffington Post. No reason was given and there was no warning or indication of this radical move on the part of The Huffington Post to stifle debate on the Internet. Shocked by this Soviet style behavior, Assimilated Press conducted an examination of Virt's postings to The Huffington Post which showed that he has not engaged in profanity or flaming which makes this particular move on their part both mysterious and troubling.

Sources at The Huffington Post have told Assimilated Press that higher-ups in the organization were feeling a great deal of pressure from many of the sacred cows that Virt has skewered over the past few months and decided that censuring his voice would be preferable to having to displease so many powerful people. These sources also said that The Huffington Post has concocted a cover story in order to deflect the harsh criticism that will result from this action to silence the voice of dissent. They will say that Virt was engaged in blogwhoring for simply including links to important breaking stories. This is certainly hypocritical as a fact check has shown that many people who post or comment at The Huffington Post are selling or promoting something, including the beautiful and talented Arianna Huffington.

Assimilated Press hopes that The Huffington Post will see the error of their ways and will not follow the old Soviet Union style of information management but will instead open their windows so that the sun can shine in and Virt's voice can once again be heard at The Huffington Post.

I'd say it was the fact that you made a self-serving comment in every single post on the Huffington Post site that was clearly just a free plug for Assimilated Press. Often your "comments" were not even relavent to the issue of that particular blog. There were just a cheap plug for Assimilated Press. I love Assimilated Press, but come on, you were a little over the top with the plugs. And yes, others do it, but Virt seemed to spend his every waking minute making sure there was a plug for Assimilated Press in every comments list. Enough already. As for the "Soviet Union style of information mangement" comment, you guys need to take a deep breath and get a grip. You got annoying and they cut you off - get a clue.

Seems to me that "annoying" shouldn't be a criteria for being banned. However, if that's the case then Huffington Post should have a clear policy of what constitutes "annoying" and enforce it uniformly. I've always liked Huffington Post and would have thought they would be more fair.

Seems that Virt isn't the only one. I've been recently banned for... being conservative?

I was banned because I suggested that the huffington post was biased in its support of Obama over Clinton - always publishing the ugliest pics and so forth. And I'm a liberal and had made many liberal posts before. So I was banned, not for bad language, but for questioning their editorial path. For real.

I was banned, too, for similar reasons. Don't toe the party line, don't get to post. Sure sounds like Amerika to me.

Here is my site. http://bannedonhuffpo.blogspot.com

I was banned apparently for maintaining that the Vedic view of karma and reincarnation means that we have caused our own difficulties and cannot blame them on God or anyone else.

I supported Obama and was critical of the war in Iraq and got banned. My guess is that they ban some folks for entirely random reasons to avoid seeming biased.

Anyone who has posted more than a few times on Huffpo understands that censorship and thought control are business as usual there. I have been banned several times simply because I disagreed with the party line. Soviet style mind control is alive and well at Huffpo.
